The small series Unterwegs was actually created while travelling, during a longer stay on the North Sea island of Borkum. The summer was drawing to a close, the colours were rich and bright.

Beate Köhne alternates between very large and very small formats, and describes this as very important in order to avoid developing routines in the painting process.
